22nd April - Bellagio and Kizzy at Summerhouse EC BSJA (or nearly NOT at Summerhouse EC as the case nearly was!!)

Got up bright and early got all the neddies at home done and toddled off down to pick up the neddies going to the show in the lorry, was ahead of schedule and was merrily about to turn into the yard when oooooooopppppppsssssss

(I will leave it to your imagination!! because you wouldn't believe me if I told you anyway and i'm very surprised that I haven't had the mickey taken out of me already on the forum!

) soooo I had my little oooopppsie with the horsebox and it took about an hour to sort it out by this time it was getting late so we just had to take 2 horses in the 'ikle lorry, got to Summrehouse somewhat later than planned

but got there in time to enter the British Novice, had missed the clear round, which we had hoped to jump Kizzy in as it was her first ever show (she has done one training session away from home before and we aren't keen on going unaffiliated so we registered her and planned to do the clear round and British Novice if she went well) so she had to jump straight into the British Novice, she warmed up well, except for being terrified of other horses whizzing up behind her, it came to her time to jump and said we would be very pleased if she jumped round and had a few poles as she is so inexperienced but she was an absolute star and really pinged round the course and she just kept jumping and the little star went double clear at her first ever show and we were well chuffed with her, you can't ask better than that from a first timer and she showed how well she has been trained to go out and jump like that at her first show. We then put her away and got Lagio out, he warmed in well and went in for his round and he also jumped a beautiful double clear and finished 3rd, Kizzy finished 6th so both got double clears and places so a good end to a day that started *cough* abit badly

30th April - Bellagio at The Hand EC BSJA

I couldn't go to The Hand, because I had my hand operated on the day before

but Lagio jumped a lovely double clear (apparently the best he has jumped yet) and finished 4th and qualified for the second rounds on the last knockings which we were delighted about has Mat has only been jumping him for a few weeks and has got the 3 double clears he still needed to get in 4 shows, which I think is excellent

4th May - Bellagio and TEDDY at Hartpury EC BSJA

On Thursday afternoon, Mat casually suggested that we should register Teddy BSJA and do some jumping with him as he is already qualified for all the classes we want to do with him for BD Summer Regionals and he is just at home training as we don't want to get him out to often and get too many points on his record, I am not sure if Mat was serious but being my usual self I registered Teddy BSJA that afternoon for Mat and rang and got him number on Friday afternoon and then told Mat what I had done afterwards *snigger* so we took Bellagio and Teddy to Hartpury today, now those that know Teddy will know that his jumping experience consists of jumping at home, one training session at Summerhouse and jumping 3 different fences a few times at his Stallion Grading, so you would think with his lack of experience we would pick a nice quiet weekday show at somewhere like Summerhouse... but we thought in for a penny in for a pound, he jumps REALLY well at home and has been exceptionally well schooled now by Mat.
We entered both in the British Novice, Bellagio jumped first and he was jumped just abit fast in this class and had an unlucky pole in the jump off. So then it was Teddys turn, he looked abit startled in the warm up when asked to jump but warmed in really well and went down to the main arena to jump, his eyes were popping out his head as he entered the ring but he jumped AMAZINGLY, really pinging (almost sending Mat into orbit at one point *sniggers* very funny as it doesn't happen very often but Mat landed gracefully back in the saddle without turning a hair) and he finsihed with 4 faults after taking the pole jumping into the double, a real baby mistake but everyone was delighted with him.
We then decided that both should do the Discovery, Teddy went first in the discovery and again he jumped fantastic, gave everything loads of room and really showed that he is going to turn his hoof to both show jumping and dressage!! He finished with four faults which we were delighted with as his only mistake on the whole course was again a genuine baby mistake!! (Mat had to have a quick breather before getting on Lagio for his round because he said he had had to work really hard on Teddy not because of Teddy being hard to ride but because he had to work hard to stay sat on his jump *snigger* he was really jumping, throwing a lovely shape and flicking away behind... a real credit to all Mats training he has done!) Anyway, Lagio also jumped in the Discovery and he just had an unlucky pole at the 2nd from last fence in the jump off but jumped REALLY well and is really starting to listen and stay in a rhythm and be very consistent in his jumping, it was just today we had 4 faultitis but it happens to everyone!!

Me thinks Teddy will be jumping some more on today performance

Also FINALLY met CotswoldSJ and had a chat which was lovely as we keep missing each other at Summerhouse
