Afternoon all: any ideas where to find a decent second hand HGV 4/5 horse? I've tried all the "usual avenues", but am failing miserably. Pretty flexible, with a decent budget... must haves include no / minimal tack lockers in horses, lots of storage, under 15' height, pref around the 30' length (so a 4 horse really...).

Ideas welcome. Diet coke & chocolate for your troubles...

I assume that will have to be a horsebox over 7.5 tonnes and therefore be under the strict EU tacho and driver regs?

Doesn't say what height/length and as far as I can see from the pic the 6 tack lockers are not in the horse area!

Advert says "new coachbuilt 4 horse carrier. Daf 2004. 18t gross weight. Cab and chassis as new. Full years test. Three partitions, rubber floor and ramp. 6 tac lockers, hydraulic ramp, large shower and toilet compartment 150cm by 112cm. Very large living area which is 254cm by 248cm. Living and chair area to be completed by the buyer."

Any good?

Yep, spoke to Oakley earlier. Their standard is to put lockers in the horses, the problem is we have one outsized one, and one with a predeliction for tap dancing on lockers. Not helpful!!

Thanks for all suggestions, the one on horsedeals needs too much work unfortunately. Will also have another look at Praters....

The large tap dancing mare may be annoying at times, but she seems to like jumping large jumps so I'll pander to her tastes (for now....;)). Old Oakleys are great, but very rare without lockers. I had thought of NI, at least I'd get used to the drive on the way home....!

Now, HTT, that's all well & good but I no longer work for a fancy pants yankee outfit where salaries come in telephone number form ;) :D. I assume you're ordering one for your new pony?!

Snigger. Sadly they won't do 4 am viewings, so I can't go on my way home from the office....

I too have an equine tap dancer his performances have been curtailed by getting the top of the locker sloped so he slides off it has worked a treat.
