hgv tachos

just to warn people after taking my lorry in fo mot today we were informed that it is definately the law now that all hgv horseboxes have to have tachos used or a manual log book. we were told previously it was 1st of april but they assured us it is already in place.

I heard it is going to come in for 7.5 soon as well!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought the lorry had to have a working tacho anyway even if your use didn't require it

The guy I just bought my new 7.5t lorry off said we need to be using tacho even for private use in 7.5t - he's given me the VOSA CD to look at but haven't had chance yet

I thing tacho's will become compulsory for any lorry over 3.5 ton if registered atfer April 2001. There are no plans of Vosa to go back any further.
Glad my lorry a 2000!!
