Would anyone be interested in starting a sighthound/lurcher injury hotline?!

We all went for a walk yesterday and stopped at the park on the way for Emily to have a play. Lola thought it was terribly exciting and ran round and round and got herself into this little excited trance she gets into and kind of does a low level growly bark noise whilst running. Next thing I know she's running towards the fence, turned too late and went bang, straight into it! Cue the whimpering and running for cuddles :( checked her over and she has a cut under her eye and scratches and scrapes all over her front legs... Duh! No swelling on her eye but think I might get it checked due to how close to her eye it is!

In the last few months in the same little excited trance we have had her running into a dry stone wall! So a big graze on her shoulder too!

She also like to chase her tail and one day bit it too hard so drew blood!

If she was a child I think I'd be getting investigated by now!!!

Anyone else have accident prone pooches?

Oh no, that sounds awful! I just got a little lurcher puppy, he's 9 weeks old so I suppose I have all this to look forward to!

Broke his back? Goodness! I take itt he didn't survive? How awful!

Nuttychestnutmare- yes, they are very accident prone and wimpy! But.. So willing, loving, loyal, quiet and calm natured and above all the most beautiful, elegant dogs ever! Pictures???

O god. Can I confess something?

I sort of started the TB injury hotline...

I also have a lurcher :o

Clearly I like long legged things which run really fast and injure themselves all the time.

Help me, I have a problem  :D

Pictures? Ooh, if you insist!! :D

This is Bailey... Probably the only half decent photo I have of him - unless he's asleep he wont stay still!

Haha Jesstickle!! I moved yards when Mr v was half way through GS but people on the new yard didn't know his past they just saw me with a skinny dog and skinny horse! They thought I had an obsession!!

Stencilface - that would depend how many silly injuries your lurcher has sustained?

Bailey is gorgeous!!! Fingers crossed he stays injury free!! Do you find he sleeps in daft positions yet? Another lurcher trait!
