“Quirky” - inconsistently nuts
“Not a novice ride” - mostly nuts
“Honest advert” - completely nuts

To me, a quirky horse probably has a lot of good points, but isn’t predictable. I’d describe a horse that has intermittent objections to things, without an identifiable cause as “quirky”, or a horse that may be fine with traffic and flapping plastic bags but leaps out of its skin because there was a particularly scary lump of grass.

I wouldn’t describe anything malicious or dangerous as quirky, but it’s definitely caveat emptor in an ad.
