Hello everyone
smile.gif

Well I must say that I am smelling rather wonderful today - the human took me for a lovely walk, and some other obliging humans had very kindly piled lots of muck up in a field just for me
grin.gif
The human made me go swimming in the pond, but I still have a faint aroma - a bit of the old Eau de Cow Poo, so I am very pleased.

The human has been very busy at work - I had lots of fun the other day though because lots of people were having interviews and I got to greet them all
grin.gif

Yesterday we went to the beach, and I meet a poodle which was nearly as bouncy as me - I outbounced it though, the honour of spangles everywhere was at stake
tongue.gif
Then this evening the human got the dummy thingy out so we got to play my most favourite game of all - it was so much fun that when he had finished retrieving, I went and found the dummy from where the human had put it away and brought it back again! The human was very impressed, but she didn't give me any extra sweeties

What have you all been up to?

Hi there,

I've had a bit of a quiet week, Small Mum has been working away a lot - she says it is because I'm so bloody accident prone and expensive - yeah right, I KNOW it's because she is constantly taking bloody holidays with her ginger pet....
Big Mum took me to the beach every day and the Franch girl took Wee Sis out in the forest.

Apparently Small Mum rings every day to give off to Big Mum that I need at least 90 minutes a day and these "silly little bimbles" aren't good enough. Whatever. Maybe she likes hoofing through the undergrowth for hours at a time, but did anybody ever ask me??????

She came back on Friday and played fetch with me for ages, which was pretty awesome.
We had a massive walk yesterday but it was awfully snowy and the ginger pet complained a lot because his feet were leaking.
We stopped for what is apparently known as a 'pee break' where humans drink pee when they are tired...I think??
Anyway Small Mum forgot the pee bags and ginger pet was very cross and huffed all the way home.
We also saw an evil white man in the woods - I told him very sternly he was bad, I barked and growled. Then ginger pet kicked the white man's head off - I would like to categorically say I did NOT freak out at this point and hide behind Small Mum's legs, that is a total lie being put about by the ginger pet because he is jealous of how handsome I am and how much Small Mum loves me, much more than him. Humph!

Hope you all had a good week.

I gave my mummy a heart attack by escaping through the gates at her work cos im so slim being a tiny little whippet, I know she usually comes straight out after us and puts us in the car..... but I thought she had left me so I went running around the front of the building past the busy cars
crazy.gif
to the front door to remind her I was there..
crazy.gif
..strangely my big sister regan rotti and flick my more intelligent whippet brother both waited in the car park thing for mam to return, "I mean clearly she was not coming back"
"Mind you, come to think of it she did come from the car park area to the front looking like she was rather stressed, shouting of me"
confused.gif
never mind I ran to her like the good girl I am, but she looked non to pleased
confused.gif
"you can't please them all" she called me a "thick little sh1t" or summit similar", I think that means I was a clever girl

Also my big brother bud the pointer has been very poorly and he got his new meds on Friday which was a good think as he lost the use of his hind legs on Thursday night and mam was really upset
frown.gif
and now he can walk again
laugh.gif
.....and he grumps at me all the time like he used to......you would think I was annoying or summit, I ony try and lie on him for some extra comfort

Traumatised.

NONE of you WARNED me about lakes.

I was running quite happily along on my walk. I saw a duck, ran after it. Suddenly, the once solid ground disappeared beneath me, and I was SUBMERGED in GREEN WATER.

I did not know how to swim, but after a few seconds of panic I worked it out.

I was not impressed. When I got out, mummy was laughing so hard she was sat on the ground crying. I made up for this by shaking myself dry all over her.

I'm not talking to any of you. Why didn't you warn me that liquids were in fact, well, liquid...?

I jumped into a canal and couldn't get out again. I didn't think that the weeble was going to be able to run down the towpath in time to pull me out.
I'd like to say I learned a lesson from it.

But I'd be lying as only 100 yards further down I did it again!!
smirk.gif
She mumbled a lot but I have to say she smelt a lot better and the blue fleece looked a lot better in murky, muddy brown-I'm sure I saw one just like it in the Musto collection.
Anyways.....I am now curled up growling at my own back leg and attacking it everytime it moves.
crazy.gif

Spaniels you just can't beat them............................cus it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference, no sense no feeling!

Im beginning to think you Spangles are all the same...what is it with you and water?! Went for a walk with my mate Minstrel (the springer) and he kept trying to get me to go into the reservoir, doesnt he realise how much it is to have my coat set in these curls every week?!!
I had last laugh though when he suddenly disappeared...he found the 'steo' in the reservoir and went right under
grin.gif

My mum wasnt overly impressed though as he was coming home in the car with me!

Hi guys, we have had an odd sort of week here. I had to go to the vet AGAIN on monday and I thought that was ok to start with because last monday I got sweets and lots of food and fuss but this week mum left me there all on my own
frown.gif
Then the nice nursey ladies made me very sleepy they said it was for some axe rays or something. I had a really long sleep and felt dead weird when I woke back up, I was very pleased that mummy came back and got me. When I got home I got to sleep in mummies bed for the afternoon so my brothers and sisters didn't disturb me but I didn't want to sleep I wanted mummy incase she left me again so I did lots of noises all day so she remembered me until bed time and then I went to sleep. The next day I felt much much better but mummy was crying
frown.gif
Cousin Bernie who I had to go help at the vets last week had to be put to sleep, but not like I was, he had to go to sleep permanently like my sister Acorn did
frown.gif
I was very sad, I will always remember him. He had some of my blood so perhaps Acorn will know my smell and they will be able to play together, they were the same sort of age. I know they will be safe and I will see them again one day, I hope they don't cause too much trouble without me there in the meantime
crazy.gif

The rest of the week mummy has been generally a bit cross and sweary. She says us animals are costing too much monies recently and we may as well all live at the vets
mad.gif
Well let me tell you I don't want to live there thanks very much mum! Little sister Ellie has been the latest casualty, she stole little sister Floras dummy on friday while mum wasn't looking and she ate the rabbit skin off it!!! Now she feels very sick and has tummy ache. Mum says it may be Ellies turn for the monday vet visit this week! Hahaha!
tongue.gif
I'm cuddling her and keeping her warm though, she isn't often ill, but what a turnip making yourself poorly like that! Anyway, hopefully Ellie won't have to go to the vet and she will do a big poo wrapped up in rabbit skin before tomorrow! Hopefully none of us other dogs or the huge dogs in the field will need any more vets either for a very long time, and then mum will be happy again!
smile.gif

Well, as planned, Spangle Domination is well underway. Every dog I met at the woods today was a Spangle
grin.gif
Including two that looked identical to me!! Tall One said I was the best behaved one for a change, I was feeling generous so didn't make her look too stupid puffing away on that silly whistle she has
smirk.gif
Not something I plan on making a regular occurance, can't have her getting too lax and missing out my Chicken!!

Also played bring back the pretend dead rabbit today, Tall one think she has me fooled, but it doesn't smell half as good as a dead rabbit! She makes lots of silly squeaky noises when I bring it back, so I try to avoid it as much as possible, my ears can't handle it!

The big Springer that lives outside (well I 'think' he's a Springer, he's black and white like me!) trod on me the other day
mad.gif
Clumsy Oaf wants to watch wheres he's going
mad.gif
He is such a suck-up and the Tall One fawns over him, so I made sure I made a great fuss and ran away with my tail between my legs (I even forgot about the chickens!!), but the Tall One still sided with him
mad.gif
She said I was making a fuss over nothing!!!
Silly cow, I heard her call him a fuffing bar steward this morning when he trod on her, not a fuss over nothing then hey!?!?
smirk.gif

I am rather concerned. Recently the Tall Ones have been acting very oddly, lots of cleaning (including me
mad.gif
) getting rid of things and lots of visits to see the Mad Spangle family.
Something is afoot, Dogs of the Forum, and I am not happy about it!!

I went on my 1st holiday last weekend. We stayed in a converted attic in a doggy friednly B&B. But this meant that Daddy had to carry me up and down the stairs as I'm not allowed to do that. Apparently now I'm 5 months old I'm getting quite heavy.... But both mornings when I got up I just couldn't hold it when being carried outside and wee weed on Daddy's t shirt..... oops! But Mummy thought it was very funny!

On Friday Mummy took me doggy swimming for the 2nd time. She was very proud of me as I managed to swim without splashing!! But I really don't think I can hold a toy in my mouth as I do it, I tried and I got a mouthful of water.... But they keep on persevering, maybe I'll try it next week.

I think I drank a lot of water swimming because I wee weed a lot in doggy training that evening. Oops! As soon as any dribble is seen on the floor, they always blame me! It was a bit mad a training this week, lots of the dogs were hyper and they were barking a lot which scared me a little after a dog attacked me out walking a couple of weeks ago. But I stayed very calm and really pleased Mummy when I walked to heel off the lead around all the other dogs. I'm really enjoying my advanced training in with the big boys, although I do find them quite scary sometimes, but Mummy and Sue says that's the whole point because I can be a bit cocky!

Hey Guys,
Well, whats with us spaniels and water?
No blooming idea. Its cold and I dont like it. Dad says its because I am a wuss, but he didnt get stuck under the jetty.....well not until he had to jump in and save me.
He was NOT impressed when he found me clinging to the poles under it. Stupid daffy thought I had sunk.....Der!!!
Ok, I WAS a bit scared, I like the bath better, the water is warm, and dad gives me bubbles.
Dad let me have a bath first, even though his teeth were making a funny clicking noise and his boots made this funny squelchy noise too. Isnt he good! I suppose its how you train them. My dads pretty good. I can get him to do most things these days!

Yesterday morning I took myself off for an adventure through the fields - I did get a bit scared though as I got lost and ended up miles away from home
blush.gif
! I worked out which way was home and was tootling up the lane when I saw Mum - she was calling and calling me
crazy.gif
- I wasn't sure at first as I still didn't really know where home was and then I saw the red car and knew it was her!!
smile.gif
So I ran up to her and got a cuddle and the she called a flapping twit and shoved me in the car and took me home. Anyway I was sooooooooo glad to be home with St Sweep and Mum - I snuck upstairs to have a kip on Mum's bed as I was exhausted after my trauma BUT she kicked me off - is that anyway to treat a traumatised Lab?

We went to the place we got to for special walks - St Sweep loves to tell me how he lived there and got to walk there everyday
crazy.gif
- anyhoo we had a balst!!! St Sweep is such a muppet he fell down the cattle grid
blush.gif
- eejit! We were hooning around when this nice old lady stopped to say hello and give me a pat - she had these nice hands that smell and looked like the clouds that live in the fields at the farm - so I tried to take one off to show mum
smile.gif
- the lady thought I was so funny
laugh.gif
- mum called me a twet when the lady had gone:o!! I showed off some of my super springy jumps over the ditches - I had some admirers and they were well impressed
smile.gif
- then we got to the pond!!!!!!! There was that glass stuff on the top of it so I jumped up and down on it a bit and the SPLASH!!!!!!!!! my paws and head went straight in it
blush.gif
blush.gif
- well it was a bit bloody parky so I took off at warp speed - Mum and St Sweep were PTSL at me.

We met loads of labs and spangles there
smile.gif
smile.gif
smile.gif
- in fact there were no other dogs. I made a new friend - a chocolate lab called Oscar - we had a great game and I could run way faster than him
grin.gif
- I think he got a bit grumpy that I could run a way as he tried to hump me
blush.gif
blush.gif
!!! I told him I'm not that sort of boy
crazy.gif
crazy.gif
.....anyway Oscars friend was cute little working cocker who was really whizzy and bouncy so she came over to play too.

When we got home my cousin Emma was here so we went and hooned around in the field with the ponios - we found a duck in the pond - and nearly got run over by the maurauding ponios
blush.gif
- one of the huuuuuuuuge dogs was in the sand pit charging around and it made them run around
crazy.gif
- so we kept out the way as they are soooooooooo whizzy!!

Hello fellow canines,

Well, Willie, Dakota and I had a pretty typical week of walking a lot and sleeping a lot while Mum and Dad earned some kibble money. Mum went away again at the beginning of the week though. I hate it when she goes.
crazy.gif
Although I thought she would be gone for a long time but she came back the next day so she was back before I knew it really.
smile.gif

Today Mum and Dad took us all out for the afternoon. We went to a conservation area we had never been to before that was somewhere south of where we live. It had fields and woods and lots of things for a beagle to sniff. Dakota liked it too but Willie said he was too hot. Mum said it was almost 60 degrees today which is why he was hot with the thick coat that he grew to keep him warm this winter. Then we drove around for a little bit and finally stopped again at a beach we hadn't been to before either. Willie got to go in the sea and chase a stick while Dakota and I did our beagle thing and sniffed a lot and I decided I liked the feel of the sand between the toes and went scatty for a while. After he swam (I paddled a little too but Dakota hates the water), Willie said he wasn't hot any more. We had a great day and now we are all really tired. I wish dinner time would hurry up and come soon because I'm hungry after our afternoon out.
