HHO hivemind i need you - lameness!

abscess gunk or just hoof gunk?! i’m hot tubbing it and scrubbing it so i wouldn’t have thought it was dirt, but i can’t tell! it doesn’t smell great but that could just be from her hoof being wet🧐

never had to deal with an abscess on my own, so even though i’ve poulticed i’ve never seen what comes out of it😂

That doesn’t look just like hoof gunk, looks abscessy, can you see any opening where is has come from?

good news today thankfully! farrier came out and we trotted up on hard and soft surface, only 2 or 3 lame strides the whole time. the slightest reaction to hoof testers, farrier said were definitely on the right side of it now!

i did ask if she thought there was any chance it was still the leg/shoulder(?) possibly and she said definitely hoof, so we’ve got to wet poultice tonight & tomorrow then dry.

i’m glad she’s feeling better, but don’t you love it when they make you look like complete liars!🤣

fingers crossed we’ll be all good shortly🤞🏻

poor lily is having to step in for her on sunday, should’ve been showing but lily is no show pony so we’re doing our first dressage test, i don’t have high hopes but if i can get her in the boards, and keep her there, ill be happy🤣
