Hello lovely humans,

long story short, I have just come out of hospital, am pretty unwell, and need to find somewhere new for my horses.
I am looking ideally around Romsey (West Wellow, Woodington area) and for part livery, but would consider other options for the right yard.
Kentford Farm Stud is the ideal, but they are full, so I need some other recommendations.
It’s for two very well behaved geldings, one 17.2hh and one 16.2hh. Absolutely must have year round turnout, ideally all day in winter, and doesn’t have to be 24/7 in summer, happy to be flexible. Not individual turnout. I can cope with them being a pair, but ideally a herd as this is what suits them best. This is the most important thing - schools etc are nice but grazing is vital for my two. I can be flexible with everything else.
Most importantly, they need to be cared for well. Treated as individuals and looked after by someone who genuinely cares.
Any suggestions would be so so gratefully received.
Thank you all.

I think it's about 30min from Romsey, but I would highly recommend Norton Livery in Sutton Scotney. Not sure if they have any spaces, but worth asking as they are a wonderful bunch and take excellent care of the horses on their yard.

probably your first port of call but NFED? id there anything on there at present?
I hope you recover quickly and in the mean time find somewhere lovely for your horses. I would offer but only have grazing and would probably step over my fencing as I'm only really set up for ponies.

Sorry your having a shit time. Have you looked at braishfield stud? Also try Sami Illston on Facebook she runs a yard though not sure how far from Romsey.

Gastons farm livery in nether wallop I’ve heard great things about too. Would be within 30 mins.

I can suggest some to avoid and some that are ok as I'm local and have been at a few in the area over the 10 years before I got mine at home if you want to pm me.
Hope you get well soon too.

Not sure if it’s still a livery yard but there is (or was!) Shirley Nears yard, Brympton, at Whiteparish? It turned into a livery yard when the riding school closed a few years ago and Shirley retired, but it’s not too far from Romsey? Might be worth a call?
