A few months ago there regularly used to be at least 100-130 people viewing NL. Ive just noticed there are 58! The other night there were only 45 at one point.

Whats going on? Have i missed a mass cull from admin or have people gone elsewhere?

I always have a daily mooch around HHO to see whats happening in the horsey world and only thought the other day its been quieter than normal.

It's been quiet since Christmas really. I hang out in SB most of the time and that has been rather quiet too. Of course, I like to go on FB and incite people to start provocative posts in there, but I'm a born trouble maker

I think that the weather has reduced people's riding time and thus the opportunity to spot issues they might post on. Also, maybe people have New Year resolutions to do things (gym, concentrate on Uni/school work etc) that mean they are not on here as much.

It seemed a lot busier after the other forum (can't remember which one now...) started charging for membership, and we had a sudden influx of new people on here. But I do agree that it seems to be a bit quiet of late.

I'm sure there will be something that will happen soon that will bring everyone flocking back in soon!

I have just typed out a list of inflammatory statements I could post about my horses and their care/management in another browser window.

I daren't post it though.......

I'm sorely tempted, just to see what would happen, but I am a sensitive soul. I was once accused of trolling on another forum for asking what was a perfectly sensible question in my circumstances - but of course, because it did not fit with some people's ideas of horse ownership I was treated to a barrage of supercilious abuse by people who had no idea that horses can be kept differently from the accepted UK norm.

You cant be that sensitive if youve posted over 8000 times on here!

There are some very rude people on here sometimes!

I think it will be interesting to see what response you get if you post the post, I sometimes think the reaction is to do with who posted the post, not actually the post content.

You have a point. It would be funny as a lot of newer NL people don't know where I live. I do get very good advice from many people in NL when I ask for it - for which I am always grateful.

I'm always more of a lurker than a poster in NL/Hunting/Comp Riders and stick to PG and SB much of the time, have definitely noticed that numbers are down across the board but it seems to have fluctuated that way since I joined in June 08 so not too worried
