Does anyone have a recommendation for a nice snaffle bridle, black leather with a bling browband, padded/ergonomic shape with a flash noseband but not a crank i.e. a plain/English noseband? Around £100 for a nice quality leather one. I really like the U shaped crystal type browbands.

I love the Kieffer Paris with crystal browband but can't tell if it's got a crank noseband. I've also seen some nice ones on CK Equine (much cheaper) but they all seem to have a crank noseband. Hmff.

I suppose I could get a separate noseband but I'd really like one that was in the same leather/make so ideally want to get it in one bridle rather than having to buy an extra noseband.

Any why are so many of them crank nosebands, what's wrong with the plain ones? Mine gets rubbed on the sides where the padding stops on the crank one that I have (shame really as it's a lovely GFS bridle, black with silver piping).

Could you not just buy a bridle you like with a crank noseband but not do it up tight, so would be same as if a cavasson?

Looking on the kieffer site, I don't think that the Paris has a crank noseband. :)

I'm struggling to see if it is a crank or not - have stared at that pic and haven't found a better view of the noseband! I have emailed a seller to ask. Do you think that's a normal noseband? It's expensive to buy if it's not the right one but isn't it rather nice ?!

If I'm gonna buy new, I really want one that I can fit properly (with a flash - don't think flash works properly if noseband is too loose?) and am worried the crank will rub, as the leather seems to stop halfway round the face, which I think is the problem. I've not had that problem in the old grubby plain bridle I have, but am def in need of some bling in my life :-)

If you look on the bridle overview page: http://www.kieffer.net/snaffle_bridles/?start=12 (make sure it goes to page 2) - it just says flash, as opposed to crank flash, so think you'd be ok. It is lovely :smile3:

That's the thing sometimes with online shopping, that it doesn't always give you the info you want. So you reckon that if it's a crank it would say that, and if it's just normal then it says 'noseband'? Be nice if it were a bit clearer though :-S

I *think* so - judging by the rest of the website, but then again, if it were my money, I'd probably do what you've done and email to check! Definitely agree with clarity needed for online shopping :wink3:

You know what, I'm a numpty aren't I (no pun intended haha). I've been looking at the Paris but now that I've looked at the others, there are some that say crank flash. The others say flash, so duh that must mean it's not a crank. Although the CK Equine lady off eBay has just emailed to say they do a normal noseband and can mix and match, and they are about half the price! Now I'm spoiled for choice :-)

Could you buy a nice flash bridle and bling browband separately? :)

I was thinking that I could take apart my GFS one and get a new noseband and browband separately, but I'm a bit fussy and really want to know that they all match. Am hoping CK Equine will put together the perfect one for me and I can then sell the GFS bridle :-)

You can bling up your own bridle with Swarovski crystal studs, not the stick-on ones but the harness ones with little spokes that go into the leather.
