Please may I request some of the legendary hho vibes for my good friends pony.

If is off to liphook tomorrow for further tests but there are 3 possibles, peritonitis, liver/abdomen abcess or a malignant tumour. :'(

Lets hope its something treatable and not the tumour.

Thank you I will pass them on.

If is the most beautiful 5 year old white grey connie who is the picture perfect fairy tale pony.

Poor little mites temperature has been up and down like a yoyo for a week but vets thought it was a reaction to his flu jab until it carried on yoyoing.

Update from the horsepital.

Peritoneal tap came back with a tiny bit of fluid but clear and otherwise no cause for concern.

Scans were inconclusive.

Temp is normal at the moment.

They have taken more bloods and he is on broad spectrum anti b's (assuming baytril/gentomycin ?) They are also doing Viral tests.

He is going to stay in and they are going to monitor him.

Lets hope they can come up with something conclusive

Time for a bit of an update;

His temp went up on tuesday night and the gave him some bute to try and bring it down.

He was sedated yesterday and had a catheter put in to draw some urine off to test. The bloods from tuesday came back the same as before i.e no change in them despite the drugs.

He was scoped this morning and they have found some very angry looking ulcers but as the specialist said they are not what is causing the high temperature so the search is ongoing.

More bloods have been taken to try and see if the anti biotics are working. And the urine test came back completely clear. And his temperature was normal again.

Poor little man is totally fed up

((((((vibes)))))))) for pony and (((((((((hugs))))))) for friend.
I hope they get some answers soon. I know the not knowing is the worst thing. Not knowing what it is or how to help your poor pony :( I also hope when they do get some answers it's something treatable. xx

Thats what the problem is..

If they dont know what they are treating how do we know if it is serious or not?

Its just so strange that so far its not looking like he is getting any better. Granted he is not worse but still he is on some heavy duty drugs lets hope with some continued use it will kick whatever is making him poorly out!!
