Fellow weightwatchers and anyone else who'd like to join:

I will be starting an update thread on Monday so if you have a chance to measure your fatty and take pics over the weekend please do!

Look forward to receiving updates on progress. I am having a stressful week of pony dieting, and am really hoping it will have paid off!!!

a definite candidate for WW ;-)

but very cute expression for food

followed a cob going into yard next door in car - hindquarter spine in a deep recess - at least two inches - think that one ought to be in your WW club

Pictures just taken on Sunday.
How is your cob getting on??

I hate dieting! It's soooo hard! The more you limit them, the fatter they get! I dont get it!!! Dolly's still got a pregnant belly, which i dont think will ever shift, but we'll see. Need to get the weight off before the Royal Lancs Show on 21st July - stress!! Muzzle rubbed badly today, so now need to get some sheep skin or something to line it with. Pain in the bum!
So can i join?!!!
Is it best to measure them first thing in the morning?

Yes my boy is still on his small paddock and mainly eating hay. The vet said to keep up the work and just move his fence line 1 foot every couple of days. He is quite happy as he has hay to eat too. I must admit that in the three weeks he has been in there on 'a diet' his neck is a lot less firm and cresty looking...so that is good. I don't think he has lost weigth as such but that will come when I can ride him again.

You're all very welcome to join! In case you missed the first post a few days ago, I'm going to put a thread on every Monday for everyone to update us on progress that week - if possible latest weight and piccies would be good! And the idea is to motivate and support it each because it really does feel like a lost cause sometimes!!!

I don't think it matters too much what time you weigh them as long as it's the same time every week. I am going to weigh mine every saturday afternoon, before I ride him.

I have had a major guilt trip from one of the farmers today about how I'm starving him and he'll be wondering what he's done wrong to deserve this 'punishment'...

Following 2 and a half months off work because of lameness, our 15.3 appaloosa gelding had bloated to 607kg. 6 weeks ago I started weigh taping him every week. He made steady progress on limited turn out, weighed hay nets, and gradual return to work. Then he plateaued out at 560kg for a few weeks. We had a chat with him about motivation issues, then readjusted his goals. I am glad to report thatwhen he was weigh taped yesterday he was down to 547kg!So the pep talk obviously worked! Ideally I'd like him to be 500kg so still a long way to go.
