HHOers do Badminton grassroots! *lots of pics!*

What a wonderful opportunity for "grass-rooters" to compete at such an amazing venue. Riding at places like Hickstead, Badminton and Burghley is only possible for the majority of riders by these venues holding grass-root, pony and riding club events. More events like these please :)

S_C - Thank you soo much for taking pictures - even of my dreadful dressage test!!!!! She is normally such a good girl but a combination of my nerves and her being ultra opinionated made for a rather "interesting" test!!! - She is only 6 though so plenty of time. If you pm me your address I'll send you a memory stick if your don't mind!! - I have to say, as I was going round the XC I noticed random people taking pictures and thought to myself "Why are people taking pictures of idiot riders like me - what are they going to do with the pictures?" I now know it was you lot!!!!! Thanks again - had a brilliant time and after that XC round, have decided to have a go at Novice!
Would have loved to have had a proper chat with you! - Maybe next time

Thank you so much again S_C (and LizzieJ!!) for such wonderful photos of my little coloured chunky chap! (no. 338) :D We had such a fantastic time and to have so many photos to remember it by is really special :) I would love to send you a memory stick S_C to stick them on to if you don't mind?

Charlimouse :)

I'd like to say I was efficient support crew but I kinda just buggered off and left them to it ;) I probably cooked them tea though :).

have to say littlepinkdress I loved your boy lots! :D saw your Dr and SJ and some of the xc... the angled houses.

Also Maddy's skewbald pony was probably the cutest thing on 4 legs, SJ was fab and saw them do 4 and 5 XC and they were flying.. hence the too fast I guess!

After watching the grassroots I had a list of about 5, 6, maybe 10 :o that I wanted to take home, but the truck was too full of tent in the end ;) it was fab to watch everyone enjoying it even if it didn't quite go to plan with lots of 'good boys' and 'good girls' being shouted round the xc :D

Fanatical I thought your chestnut was lovely.. a tad large for my liking :o anything under 15.2 def has an advantage with me! And was another who thought your dressage mark was rather unfair, particularly as we had seen quite a few of the others.

Just wanted to say to both Lizzie and S_C - what amaing photos!! You two must have walked/run miles between all the arenas - what a lovely thing you both did for all the HHO's competing!! Also to all the HHO's competing - you all look really, really good. I absolutely adore that little skewbald!! Soooo cute!

:-) He is a big boy!
Thank you for saying about the dressage. We definitely have good and bad days with our dressage but apart from the walk and the unbalanced halt I was really pleased with our test so was pretty shocked to be nearly last. It's nice to know that others though we deserved a slightly better mark.
We had a great time regardless though - I'm still emotional about it all now! Think I need to man up! Ha!

Some very smart combinations there. Looks like a very high standard of competitors. Great quality photos, I love how every horse has its ears forward.

Love the pictures. You've made me want to have a go and try to qualify something for it - which is saying something for me! Well done everyone, treasure it!

Hi Kitsune 373 was me on the bright ginge little horse! Thanks for your lovely comment :)
Also huge thanks to santaclaus your pics are fab will have to have a few i think lol

Proper impressed with your dressage, thought it might be a tad more 'exciting' given his antics around the outside of the arena :)

No probs at all. I will PM you my address if you want and you can just send me a USB stick, I will stick pics on and send back to you as far quicker than emailing all the files :)

Thanks Yes was quite pleased how he held it together for so long during test up until the lovely clapping and cheering for the person in sj ggrr he can react in a split second as u saw hehe he isn't a fan of dressage if u hadn't noticed lol far to boring atleast we wernt doing inappropriate flying changes ect which he usually finds fun
we literally cantered the whole xc due to the time being so generous still fin over 30 seconds under!
