I cant believe it! Had the worst 2 weeks of my entire life - believe me, no degree is worth the stress of t ! But Now, finally im a vet!!
Had 2 written "spot" exams last week - one large, one small animal. Unfortunately was sik during the first and for the study week before and was prescribed tablets which i had a reaction to the day before the second exam. So much so, I couldnt see and was fully prepared to withdraw from the exam and repeat in August!! Then had my large animal practical yesterday and got a prepurchase exam on a lame pony who turned out to have ring bone. That went super - 3 of the 5 people who got that pony missed the problem! Then had a golden retiever with hip dysplasia, elbow disease and arthritis (so much so it couldnt stand upright for long enough to listen to his heart) and a heart murmur probably assoc with dilated cardiomyopathy. Couldnt believe I actually was able to work up the cases properly.

My las exam was 12pm today and had to wait til 7pm for "the list" to go up - it contains the student numbers of all those with pass fail orals - definitely the worst few hours of our lives!!

Great, Really pleased for you!!

Find it quite worrying that 3 almost qualified vets missed Ring bone though..

But they are not equine vets so I think if you are not a horse specialist it can be easy to miss.

Congratulations glenruby!

Well done.
(One of our vets didn't know what an ergot was called. But they are the farm vets, and at that point I did politely remove my boys to an Equine vet instead!)
Congratulations! Huge amount of work, you must be really pleased with yourself!

I always wanted to be a vet but now being in the final year of a 3 year degree which has nearly killed me I'm glad I didn't go down that route! lmao

Well done! Your certainly a better person than me! lol

No they arent interested in large animal at all - well one does think she will be a horse vet, but to be honest she doesnt know anything really about horses and wouldnt be able to get on with horse people.

Also depends on how far through the exam they get as if you are going slowly or spend time discussing certain areas then there isnt always time to go into other areas.
Still cant believe it!! Wont be celebrating tonight as quarter of our year are back tomorrow though. A good night's sleep is in order I think!
