Hi All,

Nice to be here - I'm Jack, 36 and new to riding.

I've been keen to learn to ride for a long period of time, but an sensitive issue has put me off for some time. I'm now trying to work through this, but it would be really useful to obtain some advice from an experienced and open minded rider. Do to the nature of the issue I won't post details here, but If anyone can offer some advice and reassurance I'd be eternally grateful.
To provide a slighly cryptic reference, the issue is generally seen to be a positive attribute for chaps, but does have its draw-backs in every day life, clothing and relationships.

Hi Jack, welcome to the forum. :)

Is this an issue that maybe needs another male member of the forum to help with? We have had threads about suitable underwear, breeches etc... for male riders to wear before. You could do a forum search if they might be helpful.

Hi All,

Many thanks for the warm welcome - I really appreciate it. Advice regarding the best clothing / use of any strapping etc would be really helpful, but the female perspective is also important to me - how is this issue likely to be perceived, is it likely to offend or just an accepted part of the regular issues with attire etc, experiences. apologies for this - not sure if it might be easier to pick up via a private discussion
