I think once y bin of happy hoof is done I will be moving my "fatty" onto Hi-fi good do-er just wondering what peoples opions are on it i.e does it work for good do-ers.
Also, how is it coat condition wise?

Any idea's how much to feed a 15.2 welsh cob cross? She's in light work but will be increasing. Website says 300g per scoop but i dont know what kind of scoop...

Dengie Good doer has only 7MJ of energy perkg. This is less than good quality hay. So for a fatty it can be given as hay replacer. My boy can have a big bucket of it and it weighs nothing. Plus it takes ages to eat being a short chop. I have used it for 7 years and love it. It has added vitamins and mint flavour. Think the scoop dengie refer to is probably the big round 'stubbs' one.

The main reason I'm feeding her it is cause she needs hoof supplements (thinking of changing to black sunflower seeds?)
plus...she's getting a mix (low calorie...of course) to give her some sparkle which she needs.
Plus...she's already noisy in the mornings calling for her wee feed don't think she'd take to just having her hay..it's noramally done by the time I'm up there at 8

Have you thought od D&H's safe and sound? I use it for my welsh D, she was a fatty but she's a quite slimmy now!! And it leaves her coat in great condition
 
Hi, I have a fatty too and feed good do-er. I feed it because it contains all the added vits and mins, so no general supplements or feed balancers are needed. I feed two handfuls a day and supplement with a small hand full of D&H pasture mix, if I know her work is going to be a bit more demanding the following day. Take care not to reduce the weight to quickly or up work levels dramatically as you could end up with laminitis anyway. Mine is dropping 5kg a week at the moment, target weight to be 400kg as she is 14hh and big boned for a NF. I also don't rug day (weather is too glorious)or night at the moment as she is American barn kept with cow pens on the outside walls, and to prove a point, she was trace clipped at the beginning of December and not one single guard hair has appeared. I also give 7lb soaked hay each night to tide her over. Its not good for neddys to have empty bellies = ulcers.

I think it's helped with slimming for my mare - I wanted her to have something for her supplements and so she didn't get upset when the other one gets a feed, but she could live on nothing in the summer I'm sure. Her coat's great - really shiny despite feeling like coconut matting where she's growing out a full clip!
