Does anyone know how long a bag of hifi lite can be open for? I'm working my way through my bag and it is kept in a metal bin, but I'm not sure of the 'life' once opened?

well ours is open for up to a month depends on how much you give and how many animals are eating it. In a bin you should be ok but seal the rest of the bag by folding over or duck tape.
Also depends on where its stored, ie draft proof feedroom etc. I should say your ok up to 2 months at least.

As long as it smells fresh it should be fine. I think we get through about a bag a month.

I have started to have a quick look at the dates on the bags of feed I pick up from our local corn merchant. I have had a couple of bags that were mouldy in the past and on checking the dates both bags were ancient before being sold to me.

Takes me about 6-8 weeks to use a bag. As long as the bottom of the bag is not holey & getting damp you should be ok for 12 weeks, I'm sure
