Hi Im New! And a question about gelding a stallion please

I know I feel sorry for him as well , the owner has had him a few years so not a new owner to him. However he is new to this yard.
I think the best thing is for him to move to a yard with the facilities for him to go out on his own for 3-6 months then slowly introduce other horses and unfortunately at our yard we dont have the facilities as the fields are all used.
I also dont think i will ever be comfortable with him going out with mine after what ive seen.
I know its not his fault in any way poor boy :(

I'm glad that the horse is now out of the field BUT his owner thinks that locking him in a stable for 2 weeks is the answer!!!
If she's scared of him now, she's going to be terrified of him by the end of the 2 weeks. Some people are so stupid it's a miracle they manage to stay alive.
Poor horse it doesn't sound like he's had much of a life & his new owner isn't going to imporve things for him by the sound of it.
If you can, I think that you & the other owners need to get together & insist to your YO that he is not put back in with your horses after his 2 weeks in solitary confinment

You are SO right! If my 6yo didn't go out - at least - in addition to being ridden/lunged EVERY day he would be impossible! He is still going out in one of the stallion fields (nothing special - just higher than normal electric fencing ALWAYS turned on - and a passage way between him and the adjoining fields.)

I thinkl it will be at LEAST another 3 months before I'd risk turning him out with a couple of quiet geldings - and then only after he'd been next to them for weeks! As it is, he won't be turned out in company because virtually none of my shod horses are - they go out in individual adjoining fields. I like my horses to stay sound!

?????? the x-stallion owners scared of him, BUT has owned him for several years, so she owned him when he was an active stud stallion, did she not handle him then, was he on full livery/stud livery and not under her daily care do you know? Poor poor you and poor poor horses here! How is she going to muck him out daily if she's scared of him? You all need to get together and speak the the YM and advise that there is a reasonable risk of injury to horse and human if the horse is turned back out with the other horses and if they advise that this horse is put back despite this then they may be found liable for any injury (and personally I would be saying if it is put back out with them, then I would be leaving!). That should stop this happening. But I just hope this horse gets sorted. Good luck x
