Hi everyone, thought I'd introduce myself.
I grew up and rode in Kent but moved to Canada (Vancouver Island) where I have three horses and two Jack Russels.
I own a consignment Tack store and I paint horse portraits etc.
I miss England and feel I can keep in touch a little through your forum. :)

Hi and welcome - I am fairly new to this herd too - Im the grumpy old mare standing in the corner in the shade of the big old oak tree - the rest of the herd dont talk to me much but as Im so grumpy I dont mind at all!:D

Thats it Grumpy.... I am gonna be the annoying 8yr old horse who wants to play with the grumpy one and keeps biting your neck playfully to get you to interact!

Welcome saddlebags!! xx

Welcome,

Have you been in Canada long? I love VI, I have relatives in Comox and friends where we sail up in Campbell River. We did think about moving to BC but it didn't pan out and Vancouver seems to be just as wet as Wales!

Thanks for the welcome!
I'll post some pix of my critters fairly soon....
Enfys I'm in Black Creek which is half way between Campbell River and Courtenay... small world!
and you're right about the rain, we do get a lot, :( it is a rain forrest!

and I happen to identify with grumpyoldmares ... I kind of like them :D

Hi Saddlebags and welcome to the herd. I quite like grumpy old mares too.

I'm the Independent Mare.
The one who will lunge herself around her human on 3 legs rather than be caught simply because I can look after myself. However, ask anything of me in the right way and I'll work bravely and loyally until I drop.

Thanks for the welcome!

I have you on Google Earth right now, looks the same as our township (doesn't it make you laugh when it is called a 'city'?) blink and you miss it !

Woooooooo, so I am a nosey person. I have been browsing...

Yet another very talented artist on here now! I am sure that people would enjoy seeing some of your work in the Picture Gallery. :)

A belated welcome to the forum, I,m always fasinated with the ex pats that end up USA/Canada. We love to visit North America and if I had too could live in Wyoming, Oregon and probably many more different places.
What took you to VA? I have a cousin in Vancouver and my OH said about visiting her I said NO I also said to my sister about visiting said cousin she also said NOOOOOOOOOOO. I guess she left a lasting impression on us as kids!!

Hi Saddlebags, welcome from me too. I also am originally from Kent but now find myself living in the sweltering heat of India.

This forum keeps me sane (well, sort of) I get my horse fix plus get to have some conversation on occasion in my native tongue rather than a hodge podge of Hinglish.

Thank you guy's.
Hobo I agree Wyoming and Oregon are beautiful, Wyoming is definately horse country and the Oregon coast is stunning.
I came to Vancouver as a teen with my family, then we went back and forth a few times and finally stayed. I do love it but definately miss a few things about England.
Maybe you could visit without letting the 'questionable' cousin know you're in town!:D

Douglasmum, I would loveto hear more about life in Jaipur! The only thing I know of the city is some friends who were very impressed and attended a polo game while visiting ... do you ride there?
Also whereabouts in Kent are you from? me, Tunbridge Wells.:)

Welcome :D
I'm the overweight aged Highland pony mare in the next door starvation paddock who stands longingly looking at the lush pasture you're all in and wishing I was a bit more agile so I could jump the fence and ignore all of you and just stuff my face :D

I'm the old steady farm cob, who, every now and again, thinks she's a TB!

Hi and welcome, I'm not too far from Tunbridge, and half my family are in Canada - Ottowa :)

I'm in sunny Tunny! How long ago did you leave?

I am the irritating mare who is always in the way, and stands in front of the gate at feeding time. Probably rubbing on it. I think I have sweet itch :)

Oooh ! Welcome to all the newbies!

I grew up in Kent and now live in Jersey,Channel Islands- don't seem to have found to many memebers from Jersey on here ?.

Millreef - Whereabouts in Morroco do you live, we have an apartment in the north near Midq/Fidique ( SP?) and have been over quite a few times to the north as well as Essaouria / Marrakesh.

I would probably be the greedy pony who is always trying to figure out how to break in to the feed room. Kids are always falling off me because I always put my head down to eat grass when out hacking (he he ) But first I have to figure out how to get out of my starvation paddock !!
