hi Menage help

I had Charles Britton. He used to work with Martin Collins a long time ago! They did the whole lot including planning permission. Arena is great but had a few issues with starting dates. Secretary was always out of the office when we phoned. Once they arrived it was excellent service. But Charles did send a huge bunch of flowers as way of apology! Think I was a bit unlucky. Never had to have them back- Yet!!!

Hi
Thanks for your replys...
I was wondering if it is possible to build our own.
Anyone ever done this, whats the pros and cons.
I didn't want to spend much morre than 15000.
Nicky

Hi, it depends on your budget. I have read about a menage that it states, is half the cost of any other menage. This is because they put a material down, then the surface. It is supposed to be good draining and with no kick back and a good surface, but I don`t know from experience.
You ought to shop around on arenas on the net. A world at your fingertips.

I know you are going to think I am nit-picking, but the correct spelling is manege! I hate bad spelling!!I know, I know, but as my daughter, Stimpy, will tell you, I even text by spelling all the words, with no abbreviations. Must be an age thing. A menage is a group ( i.e. menage a trois) Just thought I would mention it.

Hiya,

The yard that i'm at build their own, got a farmer from next door to roll it and put in drainage, then had 1st drop and got farmer to roll it before second drop. They did all the fencing themselves. We have the surface made by the easi-bed people (the more expensive one!) but it worked out cheaper than sand and rubber and is a dream to ride on - better than any surface i've ridden on (and have ridden on a few). When it rains it soaks up the water and just gets springier (sp?). Would recommend it all the way. If you want any other info PM me.

Good luck

In the long term you are better off to get it built by professionals as if anything goes wrong they will come back and sort it out and also it will hold it's value if you ever sell.

I have seen too many home built manages which have turned in to a disaster.

Hi

If you are looking to spend around 15000 then why do it yourself I paid 16000 for mine, it was put in by Witham vale arenas, its great does not flood and hardly ever freezes. They were really good and very helpful.

Where abouts are you ?

Sam

Agree with above post - we looked at a DIY job and came to £2k less than we spent with company - they did a brilliant job, much better than we could have done - we paid £18k for a 20x50 with post + 3 rails and sand/rubber last summer, not had one puddle and it rides superbly
