Ok so I have a yellow Hi Vis coat already - so bright I love it :)
But its only a thin one and I want a nice warm equisafety one for christmas ...thinking of getting the pink one. To me , as a driver aswell as rider, I find yellow really sticks out at me when I see people...which colour do you prefer?
Cant decide what one to get...maybe Ill just get both :)

I think the consensus is that it is best to mix it all up so you have a bit of everything on. That said, all mine is pink because I prefer it but I am thinking of changing my tabbard to a yellow one just to make sure. I am getting paranoid in my old age (horse wears pink sheet and pink martingale thingy!)

I went out today and my friend had yellow gilet, yellow bridle bands and yellow tail thingy. I had on my pink ensemble. We look like the Blackpool illuminations.:D :D I am ashamed to say that until last Xmas I didn't own a scrap of hi-viz. I thought I was too cool. Now, thanks to HHO I have learnt the error of my ways and am collecting hi vis stuff at a rate of knots! :)

Iv never been cool so doesnt affect me :)
But Im getting more and more worried about being seen, especially on the roads so want to look as bright as we can :)
Think Ill get the pink coat as Iv already got a yellow one, and just mix and match things for the poor horse :)

Our Local BHS Safety officer recommends Orange or Yellow as these are the easiest to pick out for Emergency Services here is one of his responses to FB discussions on the subject :

Pink is not a good colour ,it dose not work and as for the girl leading the horse if she was a groom of a yard she Has to wear yellow or orange to EN471 only a leisure rider can use EN1150 but if you are going for hi-viz and safety you mite as well go for EN471 its stupid not to ,the Equisafety polite range is very good for leisure riders ,i always ride in hiviz where on or off road and if you ride where the MOD fly you should have it on so the pilots can see you ,i use the orange as it has the edge over the saturn yellow and mine is to EN471 class 3 ,i even have military grade flashing lights for my helmet and horses tail

I think i remember hearing orange hi-viz is the best? I mix & match mine - pink and yellow! Me in pink, horse in yellow. I personally find the yellow shows up a lot brighter than the pink but I'm a huge lover of pink so had to get it in somewhere!

Yellow and orange meet a higher safety standard than the other colours. Fortunately I have boy children so I don't have to deter them from getting pink hi viz, but I do tell all the Pony Club mummies that their little girls would be better off wearing yellow or orange :D

Yellow definatly stands out more. But I love the colour pink. EVERYTHING I have is pink! So I vote pink. That and I have a pink one of my own :)

I prefer pink or orange, but I always use a mix. Ponio does have yellow hi-viz things though as they came with him.
I tend to find yellow blends in with the fields round here, esp when farmers are growing rapeseed in summer.

Always go for green its what roadworkers and emergency services will wear...I know I have been spotted by other road users and with the "polite notice" etc I have seen the looks on peoples faces when they think its the cops! Certainly makes them slow down

Phil and I go out in yellow tabbard, boots and bridle set (plus sheet when it's raining/darker). I'm however upgrading to an orange bomber jacket as I like the idea of mixing colours.
