do your horses tolerate them.? i am keen to buy one,possibly the equefleece but dont want to spend money if horse will hate it. just wanting to know if most horses are ok . will be for hacking mainly walk and trot to make us a bit more visable.
 
Why would a horse not tolerate one?

I have recently bought one (yellow hi viz with fleece lining) and it's brilliant. Drivers spot us a mile away and really slow down. I've schooled in it when it's freezing or miserable as well.
 
Are you able to borrow one to try out before you buy one of your own?

I started mine ff with fleece ones that are less noisy, then moved on to waterproof once they got used to it.
 
I've have the equafleece one and have used it on my old horse and my current one without any problems. I think unless you've got a seriously sensitive/ spooky horse and a very rustly sheet then you should be fine.

The Equafleece ones are brilliant. Really bright, waterproof and wash very well. The only fault I could find with them is that my boy is quite broad across his back (and belly!) so although the sheet is fine in length (wither to tail) I'd like it to be a bit deeper to cover more of his belly up. My friend has a Mark Todd one which is massive and has a huge tail flap so you are visible from behind too. These are fleece lined but have a waterproof nylon outer.
 
Depends on the horse but most horses who are used to wearing rugs will quite happily wear one. Having said that, I know some sensitive types who you wouldn't get near them with one! Is there someone you ask to borrow one from to try on your horse to see how he reacts before you go and buy one? If he is isn't very sensitive and sharp though, he should be fine. :)
 
I have had my equafleece exercise sheet for many years now and it's great. There's no crinkling or flapping as it's all fleece. It does keep them dry and I think the equafleeces are actually about the brightest sheets you can get. They don't have reflective strips on but then I don't see much point i them unless you're going to ride in the dark which, in my mind isn't very sensible! Plus, you should have lights on if you're going to do that.

The equafleeces wash very well too. I will have washed mine tonnes of times now and it's still as bright as it was as new. I have the equafleece gilet for myself too and again have had that years.
 
I'd go for one that is well lined, that fits under the saddle, rather than cut out for wrapping around your legs (they blow up and flap much more). Ride out in it on a non- windy day for the first time (more if poss) and if your mare is spooky don't use it on windy days!
 
Another vote for equafleece :) No rustling as its all fleece, doesnt slip and very bright! :D Was out in it today and it was a bit windy but it didnt flap at all.
 
I thought the Mark Todd one was the worst flappy one ever! It doesn't really go under the saddle at all, so theres hardly anything to hold it down in wind...
