Hi viz vented hats!

Why, after all these years, are manufacturers still not providing summer riders with hi viz vented hats? Even the bike hat manufacturing seem to be going backwards on this. Will people really not buy hi viz hats? Am I the only person who wants one?

I'd buy a bright orange peaked one for hacking, would save on buying hi vis orange hat covers every other year!

I have a tipperary sportage and put a hi viz hat band on it. Does the job perfectly.

Hat bands are pretty visible from a long distance away? This is one on a vented Gatehouse Conquest 11. Though if I'd actually managed to end up riding along a public road on Rocky in this session something would have gone rather awry...

I don't feel that a hat band is enough, especially not in bendy lanes lined with hedges.

I use a Uvex helmet with red flashing led lights front and back at all times of the year, clipped into a broad rubber strap.

But sadly still a skull, so no point me thinking of one as my pro 2 is a great fit.

I hear you, ycbm, and I know exactly what you mean.

If such a thing existed, I would buy it in a heartbeat. My bike helmet is neon orange. So is my climbing helmet. My kayaking helmet is bright yellow. And you're not climbing or kayaking in the middle of a f*cking road. It just makes it easier for Mountain Rescue to find your body. The rest of the outdoor industry has figured this sh*t out. The antideluvian nature of the equestrian industry when it comes to gear drives me crazy.

I bought an endurance helmet, made by an Italian company, that's light and modern but it's blue and white. Something like it, but bright yellow or orange, would be living the dream.

TBF there's not masses of cycle helmets available in hi vis colours either, even the ones with lights in them. Not as many as there are in black at least. I love my gatehouse air rider for summer riding/backstepping but I couldn't afford two of them ?
