I suppose the issue then turns to who didn't make the correct decision. If she wasn't responsible then surely her parents were and shouldn't have let her walk home in the dark. Equally it's an age where you don't listen.

You can't have a gap in law where no-one is responsible though.

The age of criminal responsibility is 10...
 
A livery said to me recently that as a cyclist she always wears hi viz, but as a horse rider she doesn't - because the horse can move out of the way. :confused:

Absolutely freaking stupid.

A bike won't matter when it's caved in alongside you. You have a responsibility to an animal though. Same as people who let dogs run free on roads (I have a major problem with a local who does this round blind bends while several yards behind all over the place at full speed on a horse...).

A horse (and the rider on top) will not move faster than a car with human delay in response.
