welcome,

have lots of lessons before you buy, then you will know what you want

first horse shold not be young and hopefully been and done everything that you want to do .

welcome

hi, it depends what you want to do with the horse. if you're happy hacking around and only doing a little bit of jumping perhaps, a good native-type pony or cob might be ideal. for instance a Highland pony can easily carry that sort of weight... you're lucky that you don't need a horse unless you choose to.
money-wise, it is very very hard to say... you might be able to get something on loan, but lessons really are the answer first.

Hello and welcome BB!

Please don't put yourself down! 12 stone is not that big - any horse or pony with 8 inches of bone (measure the circumference of the front leg, just below the knee) can carry you.

But as others have advised, it would be best to get started with some lessons, not just in riding but in stable management, etc., before looking for a horse of your own.

Is there a good riding school somewhere near you? They should be able to teach you about looking after a horse, as well as riding.

Good luck!

Hi and welcome. When I bought Liri I was 11.5 stone and 5ft 4. She is a cob x. U shouldn't get too hung up on your weight. Get some lessons and don't rush into anything. I made 2 big mistakes before I bought Liri and lost alot of money in the process. Be very careful in your choice and pm me if you like. Good luck.
