My 6 yr old mare slipped over on tarmac and fell down onto the road. I’ve been riding all my life and am pretty good at it, so this was a big shock. Have been agonising over whether to sell her on or just keep going. Fortunately neither of us was actually hurt surprisingly, so I did get back on and just finished the hack like nothing had happened. But, finding riding over tarmac bit scary now, and trusting my mare to find her feet is proving challenging.
Just interested in people’s experiences of similar.

Do you know why she slipped? Tarmac isn't always the best surface for horses but slipping/tripping can be an indicator of something else going on. I would also maybe change the title of the thread as you would probably get better responses :).
