Hi.

My dad has won tickets to go Hickstead International horse show at the end of July through Sky. He has asked if I would like to go with him.

I'm in Lancashire so approx 275 miles away and obviously the cost of the hotel to stay etc.

Is it an event worth going to? If so what is the best day. Think he can choose a day from Fri-Sun though I have limited time off work left so Saturday makes the most sense.

I'm sure I'd enjoy it, but my dad isn't horsey and not sure how much he would!

With working full time, horses and a toddler, weekend time is precious. Spending time with my dad would be lovely though.

If it was an hour or 2 away but will it be worth it for the 5+ hours each way?

It is an enjoyable day out if you have an interest in horses competing at the top level across all classes, but if you have no interest in horses it would be a long day.

It's a brilliant show if you like watching horses but not alot else to do if you don't.

It is top level so all the big names will be there I would imagine the weekends have the big jump classes, I mainly went in the week with people showing so it's not as busy but still lots to watch.

Maybe look at the programme for each day it will be on the website.
