I am - a total novice on a giant who has only competed twice indoors where he qualified (fluke). Not great preparation as he had an operation which meant he hasnt even been out in lorry since then
Jumped there many many years ago and now getting very nervous. I am assuming the Prelim is on Sat but got to work out how to do my jacket up by then as I might have eaten a lot since we qualified!!
Yeah preliminary is Saturday. We are going sat and again Sunday for the novice. We only qualified novice coz only three of us were in a class back in the winter! I also have a huge horse and it will be his first time at a not local show though he has been to three centres locally. He is only a baby really. Not really a dressage person so rather worried my self lol
I have been out the past 2 weekends and come home with -2 both times lol, both times I had some one read to!! hope its not going to be one of them things that runs in threes x
Quick question- times are up and I see each class has been split into sections....is it like eventing an each section has a winner or do all the sections compete against each other for an overal winner? Ta
I think you are right with it running as sections - I looked at the results for last year and that looks like what they have done in the past.
Feeling slightly sick now - just worked out that we will need to be up at yard by 4am to start getting ready as giant pony is out at night and wont stay on yard on his own.
Far too many letters in the big arena and my instructor thinks the Jaan arena is spookier - can I wear my airjacket?
Joking aside - am I right in thinking I cant carry a stick in the test?
I'm definitely hoping it is run in sections as my test is at 9:42 so I don't want to hang around all day if I have done a nice test! No whips or callers on Saturday.
Just ran through the test a couple of times in a 20x40 so it should feel like a lot of space on sat!
I'm going too for Prelim and Novice and it is deffo run in sections. I went last Saturday for a pre emptive strike/practice and i was really impressed with how it was run/organised. Everyone is really friendly and the arenas ride well. Look out for the judges huts!
I think it will be quite busy and the practice arenas maybe a bit of a bun fight but it should be a good day. As people probably know it's no callers and no whips and bring your own numbers....i think. Anyway good luck to everyone and remember the mantra: smile, breathe and enjoy
My daughter is doing Prelim and Novice. Stupid question - As the times are posted online does she need to phone tomorrow as well? She's lost the relevant piece of paper (god knows how she is going to remember a dressage test!)
Hi Ditto,
i've just found my piece of paper from qualifying and just says times available on Thursday via ringing up and also available on the web site. I got my times off the website today and won't be ringing up. Hope this helps and good luck, i also maybe doing a bit of freestyle test riding if i forget the 2nd 15 mt circle in N22 again!!
Jb George- novice 23, I did that the one and only time I have have ridden it, because I learn the pictures and didn't learn it the read way. The laminated with diagrams sheet tells you to do it but don't show you with diagram
