i've seen it's ladies day on saturday.
Is the black tie dress code only for people with members tickets(not standard tickets)
Or is this a standard dress code for everyone visiting?
Also if its not for everyone would anyone who has been advise wellies?(assuming it's not black tie for everyone)

Also did anyone get there by public transport and know where the nearest train/and or/ bus station is? thanks:)

Thank you:) and any other advice you could give me on what to wear would be great

I would guess its just members tickets only, cant imagine the crowds of people that go there all in black tie dress! I certainly never had!!!

Can't help with the dress code, but nearest train station is Wivelsfield (next stop on from Haywards Heath). HH is about 15 min drive away, I'd have thought, with Wivelsfield about 10 min. HH is a much bigger place, so you're more likely to get a taxi there.

Have you not looked on the Hickstead site? They normally have 'how to get here' sections.

Oh and footwear - go for yard boots or wellies. It's been dire for rain round here, lately and today has heavy showers forecast, so expect squelchy ground!

Looks like black tie is for the summer ball.

Ladies day - dress up and be judged to win a prize if you want to! Much like best in show. Barbara Windsor is the judge
