Looks similar to the German Hackamore then Robert Whitaker uses on Finbarr, that is a hackamore with a bit I think. Although I must say Ben's looks much more sever but Alfredo goes very well in it.

It's a SJ trend to use hackamore and a snaffle - must keep their heads in a bit or something!! Far too complicated for me..... Double bridle is as complicated as I can cope with!

They are but now you can have it as a combination with a bit aswell (as far as I know).

They are but think you can get a combination. Very very severe IMO as must put lots of pressure on multiple points of the jaw. Still, seems to be right for him!
