Ok... Am I just getting old and grumpy, or does it annoy anyone else to see these girls riding round HICKSTEAD, with their long ponytails flapping everywhere?!

What on earth happened the hairnet? Maybe I'm just a little bit oldschool, but surely turnout is still important?!

Any views?

xx

Yes, I must admit I thought that.

Same - I was sure that they introduced a rule about hairnets.

Ellen Whitaker always use to have her long hair hanging out, but she seems to have tidied up her appearance now. She looks much more smart now!

I am going to say something very contentious ...... I took my daughter to her first BSJA comp a week ago to do a discovery class to help her eventing. I never seen such a scruffy bunch of riders in my life! I dont think anyone there knew what a hairnet was, boots were scuffed and dirty, holey jods and scruffy jackets. Horses were for the most part nicely turned out My daughter said she felt very out of place in a smart velvet cap, hair in a hairnet, clean white breeches and a very smart hacking jacket. I even had one mum ask me if my daughter evented. I said yes and asked her how did she know and she told me said that they way she dressed was all wrong (yeah, for who?), plus she didnt 'showjump' properly. Rant over.
