hiding in the wardrobe

I'm as pleased as punch with my pup, her first fireworks night and she's been sound as a pound, I did let her into the garden when it was quietish and it all started again so she had a bit of a wobble and ran back inside but then came back out to investigate and rescue her ball that she left behind, but overall she ignored it all :)

Our 8 month old lab is working stock and he showed it tonight. Whenever a firework went off, he looked up to see where his bird was falling. My previous bitch did the same thing and both react/reacted the same with thunder too. Very pleased with this young man.

Took our two GSPs (13wk old pup and 11yr old bitch) down the lane to the small local bonfire,in the dark. (They don't have any firework display,as don't want to upset all the horses and livestock in the valley, which is very thoughtful-plenty of fireworks going off all around a bit further away tho). Neither dog batted an eyelid:). Pup was mega focused on anyone with a burger/hotdog in hand and older bitch shuffling nearer to bonfire to warm her bum up,whilst keeping an eye on aforementioned burgers etc...(especially those held by inattentive kids:D)

Dunthing my cocker (show x working) was desparate to get outside! OH was shooting the other day and we had to put him indoors as he kept running in direction of shot looking for a fallen bird....he's never been worked!

Same as every night, sleeping on the sofa, under a blanket.
I think he was more appalled at 'Strictly Come Dancing' being turned up extra loud during the worst of it!

He didn't even notice! We had a small display in our street and he was more concerned with our guests. We bought him a pig's ear though because we knew the guests would get him very worked up.

mine fell asleep and didn't notice a thing, im going to take her to a small bonfire on monday and see what she does. Shes 7 months old so i figured this year i should make sure she sees it all while she's young and then hopefully she wont be as scared as my old dog was. she had a serious case of hiding under chairs and behind the sofa and getting herself stuck on bonfire night.

I actually forgot what night it was and merrily went out for a walk with the dog in the dark, hadn't even brought a lead with me..oops, bad owner! Luckily Bax couldnt give a fig.

i have 2 older dogs who dont care, and my lurcher did not care till she was 3yrs and 2 men with shotguns and rifles were shootong on the farm, they shet within a few feet of us and then when i was walking were shooting through the trees in our direction and since then she is terrified.
she is not bothered about thunder and is ok with gunshot but fireworks she is terrified of

Mine had his anxiety tablets from the vets as the past 4years hes struggled badly. First two nights hes was sleepy and settled but last night he was unsettled and stood crying and kept trying to find somewhere to hide. Hes happy during the day but when it gets dark he gets unsettled.
