My cocker has been lame for over 6 weeks with zero improvement with rest and NSAIDs. Recent X-rays inconclusive but vet very suspicious of HIF so she is off to Langford ?

Anyone experienced this? What was rehab after surgery like and long term outcome? Presumably end of working days?

I have heard it’s worth x raying the other side to see how it is so you can make an informed decision.
I think most that have had it have been retired, but Langford should be able to give you a prognosis for that I hope.
Best of luck.

Thanks, everything crossed. They need to CT scan the elbows first, so I’m probably jumping ahead a little quick. But my vet very good and into working dogs so I suspect his gut is right

Not the end of a career if it can be stabilised by a good surgeon. Screw for stability and it's a 90% return to full function last time I refered one.
