hiya, i am wondering what sort of high-viz stuff i should have?
i am hacking out my 14.1hh welsh D on county roads. i sometimes go into the village. i just want to feel seen as all i wear at the moment is a fluorescent vest!

also if you would be able to tell me where to buy it that would be an added bonus :) x

The absolute minimum for the horse that I use is leg wraps. One reason for this is that they catch peoples eye as they move up and down :D Also have a hat band almost permenantly on my hat, for visibility over walls.

I wore the 'Polite' tabbard yesterday, the one that looks a bit like a police tabbard, and boy, did the cars slow right down :D :D :D

D1 was wearing one that says 'Beware Stroppy Mare' - not sure whether it meant her or the horse lol :D

As a rule, we have high viz exercise sheets and boots on the horses, and a high viz tabbard or jacket on the rider.

I wear a hat band and either a long sleaved jacket or a body warmer.
My horse wears sleaves on gthe reins, a breast plate and sometimes an exercise sheet.

We like to be seen ;)

The minimum I would wear is a hat band, tabard, leg bands and neck band on the horse.

For rugs what size is your horse in normal rug sizes?
The mesh ones are fantastic as they can be worn all year round :)

If you hack on country roads, I cannot recommend a brightly clouded hat enough!! Especially if there are hedges- I won't go out without mine :/) that, a tabard, hi vis breast plate and leg bands are my usual, but in super dark days I also have a bright yellow exercise sheet with tail guard!! (I have a brown horse lol!!)

I wore my one of the 'polite' ones on Saturday and got slow traffic, lots of hellos from walkers and even some rowdy kids in the woods shut up - I love it, the girls at the yard have ordered them too :D

Always have hi-viz vest /tabbard on and in winter or evenings I put his hi-viz exercise sheet on too :) The equisaefty stuff is pretty long lasting too
