High vis

You can get some really well cut, nice looking (as far as hi vis can be) stuff just by avoiding the equestrian market. I've got fitted yellow Karrimor tops for summer and an orange climbing jacket which is actually such a lovely cut I wear it off horse too, and people often compliment it.

It's a mystery to why the best equestrian clothing manufacturers are not selling stuff in this area Musto Toggi and the like it really annoys me that they are not .
In winter I have to ride every day in awful in nasty fabrics simple badly designed for the job .
I really don't understand why they don't see there's a place for them producing quality hi viz wear .

It's worth having good look around Decathlon. Lots of Hi Viz in their various sports clothing isles.
We have seen some really nice fleeces, tops and gloves. Sports wear, so aimed at the exercise market re comfort, breathable, etc. They usually have end of isle offers too where stuff is reduced.

Online, and to add to my reflective wear, I purchased some nice black jods with a large silver reflective panel down the outside of each leg (those not Decathlon though).

Thanks for all the suggestions! Can feel some serious internet research coming on. However, I agree with Goldenstar, I honestly don't understand why the likes of Musto (who I feel I must have earned shares in by now, as I really like the design and quality of their kit) et al haven't realised there is a huge untapped market out there. I was looking at riding jackets on one website the other day and there must have been about 200 to choose from in every conceivable shape/size/thickness, but only one in high vis. I do have a zip up tabard/waistcoat type thing, which I wear in summer, and have a Horsewear jacket that isn't too objectionable, but just don't understand why in this day and age when high vis is becoming more and more the norm, that riding-wear manufacturers are completely behind the curve.

Musto did a lovely hi-vis orange softshell lightweight fleece/jacket a few years ago - I love mine. I also managed to get hold of a Quiksilver down filled bright orange winter coat from TK Max last season which is perfect for hacking out in winter.

I have a Musto coat I bought about 15 years ago - it's called a Safe Rider, it's yellow with reflective piping, water proof and hip length - my perfect winter coat however it's scruffy and too big now. For some unknown reason Musto stopped making them and didn't replace them with a similar product. I would love another, nothing I've tried since is a patch on it.

Yes, I have a really useful bright orange lightweight waterproof jacket from Musto. Whether it meets the definition of high viz, possibly not, but it's a good hacking jacket especially when combined with a high Viz gilet.

ihate work sounds like I might have the same jacket! However, wasn't sure if the orange was quite high vis enough. I don't know why companies stop making things that work really well. I agree Goldenstar, I have a really old Musto combination jacket that is truly waterproof (unlike most jackets that claim to be waterproof), covers everything you want it to cover and came with a detachable gilet lining. Now, if they started making that again, and made it high vis, I'd buy two!!!
