Some gobby storm is coming in.

Was planning a nice early walk on the common tomorrow, however weather app is saying there will be 50 mph gusts.

There are no trees out there, but will my dogs be okay walking in 50mph gusts? Smallest is a whippet.

I would worry about the journey there and back, tree coming down or some such.

I have a lot of trees around me. I wouldn't drive to a walk but I do still take them out, the council will often close the path (signage only) in high winds but I live right on it and have had to climb over/under fallen trees before now!

Just realised I did my first ever (as was) IPO 3 and won the trial during Storm Desmond in 2015. 93/84/92. At least the wind covered up all the barking during obedience.
I was up on Exmoor for Bert. Scout was a mad thing. I reassured myself by saying he couldn’t hear the whistle. I’m leaving him at home tomorrow!

mine dont mind wind and theres plenty of tree free places we can go, but if its raining there will be a lot of deep sighing and flopping back down happening as they wont walk in the rain. Its supposed to be dry here in the afternoon so they will have to wait till then.

I hadn’t really thought about it..
My little terrier would hate to be taken out in a storm, there are sofas and wood burners for days like that!
During storm Bert I took my bert to the yard where my retired horse lives and wore him out poo picking then walked the long way round the fields back to the car.
I just feel he needs the burn out.
I wouldn’t walk round trees etc. I hate wind!!

We're going to attempt our club agility show tomorrow - indoors, with a few mods as to how we're getting in and out of the building to avoid having the barn doors open. I did a bit extra today before the rain hit just in case we are housebound tomorrow, the forecast here is pretty dire and their heads won't fall off for one day at home.

I’m going to decide in the morning whether I’m going to risk it .

Well I woke up naturally at half 4.

Went on my phone for ten minutes. No dogs materialised.

Got up for a wee. The collie came and said a quick hello and then took herself straight back to bed. No sign of the Lurcher and the whippet remains unmoved from my bed.

Go downstairs to get a coffee. The lurcher does not even lift her head to look at me.

I can only assume they have all had a rough nights sleep from being able to hear the wind 🤷‍♀️

So I guess it doesnt matter that we arent walking this morning, because apparently none of them can be bothered anyway 😅

Mine just went out for wees, the younger one leapt up full of joy, to him everything is a glorious adventure, he got to the door, stopped dead, glared at me and tried to go back to bed. I've had to drag him out and he wanted back in straight away, so no walks here till later if it dries up. The old boy is still in bed under the duvet where he will remain until about 11 when he decides he does actually need a wee

I still take my spanners out - i just avoid areas with trees! Mine were out working yesterday - birds were like exocet missiles!!!!

I had to push my whippets out of the door for a wee. Both went and were at the back door 30 seconds later screaming to come in. Took themselves back to bed and haven't voluntarily shifted since. No walks for them then.
