Not sure pointing counts as a competition ride but I just wanted to post this picture of Rosie and Major Blue (taken by Richard Weller Poley - I have permission) earlier today. It's not that they won, they came 6th out of 11, and I know he's ploughing through the fence and she doesn't look particularly stylish - but I love it because he's giving 100%. Hope you agree!

It was exxy - I was almost warm for a while! She had a 2nd and a 3rd at Tweseldown beginning of December but nothing really since. Fingers crossed for the next few weeks. Glad you like the picture - I just think he's showing such spirit. Horses really are the most wonderful animals (most of the time)

Fantastic picture- she isn't coming down to barbury in a couple o fweeks time for the vine and craven? (probably not as it is a long trek from you)

We have Cottenham up here in East Anglia in a couple of weeks so I should think they'll go there. So pleased you like the picture

QR I forgot the best bit actually. As well as the other 9 runners, he was racing against his older full brother, Nokimover. On form he should have finished in front of Blue but in fact he came 9th, so go the boy

That's a lovely picture. I've been to watch our local PTP - the Tiverton Foxhounds at Chipley Park today. The standard of horses and riders is generally very good these days. Mind you we do have Philip Hobbs, David Pipe and Paul Nicholls all a short distance away. Paul Nicholls actually had a runner today and Philip Hobb's daughter had several rides.

I think she was 7th not 6th, much too hot a race for MB im afraid. She is brave as a lion in my opinion to get on things and race when she has never clapped eyes on them before!

I expect you're right - she thought she was 6th but in the heat of the moment ...... I was just relieved she was in one piece and hadn't a clue where she came tbh. Blue has missed some training because he's had a corn on his foot so was not as fit as he might be - all the better for the run hopefully. He's no speed merchant though - a tougher course will suit him better.
She usually gets a chance to 'try before she buys' but she's so keen, she actually would accept a ride on (almost) anything - lol
