Highland crosses?

Shame you're up north, Oberon, you'd be welcome to come and ride my ratbag... He's 14,1ish, I'm 5'8 and relatively long of leg and I think, tall though I definitely am on him, we get away with it! Even at dressage length I think we're within the realms of sanity :p

You mean it's a pity Oberon is so far SOUTH!:D

I've just put up an advert to see if I can get rider for my stallion, Josethdene. He is 14.1. http://www.equineadverts.co.uk/-1/1...ed_for_champion_ridden_Highland_stallion.html

Is Fergie as tall as 14.1HH? I am surprised because his mum is quite small and I don't think Ferg's half brother was much bigger (who's now employed as a deer pony).

But I do have a huge 2yo filly....

Ooh an excuse to post Taz pictures :-) She is 50% highland 50% Andalucian....

Beautiful horse! But she must be terrifyingly intelligent with that cross, great fun I bet!

ETA I am having serious Highland envy right now. Getting a Highland or a Highland x definitely going on bucket list!

He's bigger than Joe. He measures in (accurately - ie flat surface with proper measuring stick) at 14,1.

Why do you have to be so far north  I'm sure he would love to do some PC and RC stuff down south .

ETA hehehehehe rhino :D:D:D

Thank you. Yes she is and also very stubborn and opinionated at times! Something she enjoys like jumping or xc she will give you 100% and fly round not looking at anything, fast and never stops. Dressage - we tend to get the 'ears back shuffle' or 'stroppy jog and bounce' :-) and sometimes both which earnt us our worst ever dressage score last weekend lol!

This is my 3year old, in the middle of greying out. Her dad is Highland and her mum is a a small quality irish sport horse. She takes very much after her dad at the moment!

My 15.2 mare is 50% Highland and 50% TB, she is very hardy and a super good doer, but has a fab jump and nice paces. Will post a pic tomorrow as on phone now. She is very clever, and super brave (she is great out hacking and did very well at our first le trec a few weeks ago). I would recommend the cross to anyone as I think she is great :-)

16yo 16HH Highland x Irish Draught. The black is an 8 month old Highland foal.
Sorry about the picture. Apparently, the ID cross is bomb proof and not for sale at any price ! (I tried).

I teach a young girl on her mums highland, he's about 14.2 and im 5'9 and I'm happy to ride him! He's stubborn, lazy, opinionated and fat ( even though he is the skinniest one I've seen) and he wont jump or put any effortbinto lifting his feetbover poles but I adore him!

That's nice, I like very much... I think connie x highlands could be very hit and miss - but if you get the best of both, a smashing pony.

D I like the black highland in with the IDx as it happens - nice looking thing :D

My friend's 6ft tall and at least 12stone and she looks fine on her 14.2 Highland tank! He really takes up her leg and while he does jump, she does dressage with him and he's turned out to be a clever boy as well as a totally chilled dude! He is one of my fave ponios on the whole yard 80)

We've ISH X H.... ARAB X H.....LIPPIZZANER X H..... so just let us know what you want..... all grey though.

I'm in love with Highlands at the moment. I’ve always had sport horses and generally don’t like a lot of hair but something about them just makes me smile.

I keep looking out for a nice 14.2 mouse dun!

I can't find anything on internet to verify this but the lady I work for (who has been around horses for all her 80 plus years) says that Sheila Wilcox's horse High and Mighty (who won Badminton twice) was 1/4 Highland.

We were having a conversation about Highlands as I had just asked her if I can keep one here on the farm if I buy a weanling in the autumn............ and she said yes!!!!!!!!!!

Highland x Clydesdale.

The mother was a Highland -- not my breeding! Sorry, don't have any adult photos but this used to be a regular cross to get a stronger pony for work on small farms up here.

Friend has tb highland and other has I'd highland.

Got three pure highs and am 5ft 7 and a half. Do everything with them

Friend has a 15.2 for sale , they do sometimes go overweight so no good for serious show ringers (although I have never seen anyone get measured) some bloodlines regularly go over height. Brownbred stud are excellent at finding ponies for people esp. Some that sell by word of mouth!

My pure bred is a race horse in the wrong body, forward, nutty but so loyal!
