Registered Highland filly, foaled 12th June 2010, so nearly 24 months old. I measured her the other day, by myself and only with a stick in the field so maybe not 100% accurate, but I reckon she must be 14HH already and very bum high. What do you think? (Sorry she's got her head down but that is the normal position for a Highland!:D).

She'll probably be as tall as she is wide by the time she's finished :D

She is lovely BTW.

If we could have 16hh Highlands, I'd be a happy girl ;)

Rumour has it that it's a hand larger than their 2 yo height.. I'll wait and see how much my 2 yo stretches :)

Mine was 13.1 hands at 2, maybe 13.2. He is now finished (probably!)at just about 14.1.

She's lovely! She does look pretty tall for a 2 year old to me! Do you know her parents heights? The breeder I bought mine off told me he would be 14.0 to 14.1 and she was spot on.

Posted the reply to the wrong b... thread. Moral: Never drink and type!

I have great expectations for Kelpie. Her mum is Kinkell Breagha (remember the thread, "Should I go and see this mare?") at about 14HH and dad is 14.1HH. Of course, if she goes over 14.2 she won't be eligible for some shows, but who cares?

I had the owner of Breagha's sire here the other day who said her mum (Breagha's, i.e. Broadshade Bramble) was "fast". I assume that means speedy.... Dad is my stallion Josethdene (pic below). But it is Kelpie's character that got my attention. She is bold, without being pushy, if you know what I mean. I think she could be a great one in the right hands (if she ever decides to jump!). I was teaching one of the youngsters to load the other day and Kelpie just pushes past as if to say, "So? What's all the fuss about?" and walks straight in!
