Lows

Highs:

Coming 3rd with Rosie at the BRC Intermediate Horse Trials Champs; also team placings at the Open Hunter Trials Champs at Aston Le Walls, and the Riding Test and Style Jumping at Lincoln.

5th PN at Firle and getting over my worst-fear jump, palisade with huge ditch!

Various other placings at PN, and just missed a place in the S East Eventers League

Buying new Filly in Avatar

Lows: Selling Bons in Feb after another crashing fall meant a trip to hospital and then lost my nerve on her after that.

Realising my Shettie is no longer fit enough to do much due to his face tumour. I know he's upset as he loved going out with Rosie.

The biggest high was definately coming 2nd in the Hickstead Derby, especially when you enter expecting nothing more than experience.
The low was the horrid summer just when you have hit form, & the wet weather holding up the building of our new equestrian centre. Dont suppose I should complain really.

Highs:
Coming 9th at Grasshoppers SJ and qualifying for the final.
Being placed in most dressage classes we have done.
Our first dressage win with 70%.
Qualifying for the Trailblazers dressage second rounds at prelim and novice.
Shadow going clear in every hunter trial we have done.
Our first hunter trial win and out of 70 people.
Coming 2nd in our first eventers challenge.

Lows:
It hasn't been a bad season but I've let her down a few times SJ and haven't done as much BSJA as I'd have liked. I was hoping to do our first intro this year but she wasn't ready after losing her XC confidence a bit last year.

After taking a year off from any competing to go back to basics, retrain & regain control of the lad daughter started competing again this year.

Highs: Won local Riding Club Working Hunter, competed Prelim Dressage & regularly attained 68%, won her first ever Novice Test. Affiliated with BSJA & in 7 months has gone from unaffiliated jumping to jumping Newcomers & has actually got money on the lad's card. Have also found a fantastic jumping coach who has instilled so much confidence in daughter & helped her so much. A wonderful season & still continuing.

Lows: Her grandfather died this year & obviously is not here to see her success.

HIGHS; Owen being so close to winning his first two ODE's this year after the dressage and SJ,that was a wonderful treat after all that he has been through with his back operation.

Finding a super loan home for him.

LOWS;
Owen refusing to walk across the water or go down steps on the XC when he was so close to winning.

Finding appalling ground condtions at Highclere,Owen floundering in the ground; the dressage judge being an unbelievable cow when marking him and not taking the conditions into consideration.

Not being able to find a good home to sell him to.

Highs:

Marco being sound all year and starting to really enjoy s/j and xc. (OH's achievements but am so proud of them both)
Brooklyn qualifying for Trailblazers dressage finals.
Brooklyn winning his first ODE (teeny beginners stuff but wahey got a rosette and a prize!
grin.gif
)

Lows:
Brooklyn injuring himself in second ODE, being off for a month and missing end of the season, just when we were making progress.

High's

Flo - after being lame all of last summer, being placed in 2 intro's this summer.
Sophie - OH "slightly" getting the idea about stressage, therefore not being last after this phase in his PN events.

Low's

Flo - being elim in one of her intro's
Sophie - none

Quite a few rosettes at RC and SJ as well as the "all-consuming" eventing.

Mega high

Lows-not enough shows

Pips obstacles at the first indoors, totally let him down.

All the bad days with Pip, a hackney,tb welsh was not an inspired cross.

Hardly taken ginga out atall since last year, as he is now just not up to Pip or the others level.
