Nobody thinks it is the RIGHT thing to do, where has anyone said that? Stop trying to make yourself sound like a victim here. What people are saying is that they don't think it is the huge welfare case that you think it is and they have suggested ydont get your knickers quite so twisted over it :)

Don't know about that but you are certainly naive (at the least) if you think your horse has never ingested any form of dead animal matter. This forum has knowledgeable people posting here so quite unlike many of the other kiddie horsie forums. You'll get used to this place in time.

I think you are getting quite over the top, please get a grip of yourself. Far worse things out there to worry about, real cruelty. Try and concentrate on that for a moment. Rather than a loved horse owned by a multi millionaire that will have the life of riley. Ooops that might not be a good word at the moment :o

I dont think its an over reaction... I also posted it on facebook and the general consesus seems its a stupid thing to do......

Like I said if you think its ok then crack on

However claiming people are naive or not knowledgeable or trolls because I have my own opinion is bitchy (but then I suppose so is the majority of the horsey world!!!)

no.. we all think it is acceptable :confused:, I will assume for continuities sake that you mean unacceptable.

You see earlier it was very much a statement of fact.. meat will give the horse colic, without any facts to back that up, now it has become your opinion which you are of course entitled to hold.

Depends which batch its from. I understand they have had quality control problems in the past:eek:
 
I'd just like to add that many years ago, a very kind lady in Tilehurst, Reading, used to run an animal sanctuary. A visitor, thinking it was ok, fed a ham sandwich to the pet donkey, which subsequently died an horrendous death due to being fed an 'innocent' sandwich....:eek:
 
What was the cause of death?

I ask because AFAIK my Section B who had a cup of tea (two sugars preferably) and a bacon sandwich as frequently as I could be bothered is still going strong. He'd be about 18 now.
 
Springy - I hate to say it but, clearly the horse felt he needed beefing up, but because she only served him pork, he thought "That makes a good substitute"..:p
Now lollies - ice ones - I know a pony who likes the fruit pastel ones.. is that poisonous??
Sorry, but I have to say, you need think about this - The horse clearly isn't bothered about the fact he's eating a relative (pigs related to horses?) it's no worse than us eating red meat, apparently we're only supposed to eat so many ounces of that a week or we might get cancer.. Then there's eggs, not supposed to eat those raw, might get salmonella..
You could step out of the house tomo and get run over... life's too short to worry about 'that sausage butty' and at the end of the day, what gives you the right to say what we or horses eat unless your a bl**dy expert ;)

I wouldn't be feeding Mollie sausages, but then I don't tend to have sausages about my person when on the yard! :D

If someone else on the yard chose to feed their horse a sausage sandwich a day, I'd find it rather odd but I wouldn't criticise. Especially if the horse was fit and well. Other peoples' choices are not my concern.

I most certainly wouldn't be naming them (incorrectly or not ;)) on a forum.
