hilary vernon bit alternatives

I've been recommended to try a hilary vernon bit on my horse however my bit bank doesn't stock it. Can anyone recommend a bit that is the same concept as the hilary vernon that my bit bank may stock!? Don't really want to buy one without trialing first.
 
What sort were you wanting? I have a few that I should sell, not because I don't rate them as I always use her bits, just because my current horses have small mouths!

I know you have said curved mouthpiece, but with which cheekpieces?
 
I'm not entirely sure what it comes in but eggbutt,saffle,loose ring etc all fine.

It's not a strong horse so just not a gag or Pelham type.

I will have a look but I think I might only have it in a kimblewick or butterfly cheekpiece so probably no good for you, sorry.
 
I recommend Bombers Bits which you can certainly get from a bit bank because I had three on trial before I got the right one for my hard to bit mare. I'm pleased I took the time and effort to get it right - she's happy in a bit for the first time ever.
