My nine year old gelding got a chiropractic session last Tuesday and was fine on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but then all of a sudden when I was tacking him up he started backing up placing his hind legs under him and freaking out, he broke one of the crossries and his muscles were giving in as he tried to find the nearest wall to support himself on. Mind that he has shiverings and has been adjusted for it. I didn't want to ride him and lounged him instead to see if I could see any lameness, well he wasn't lame just extreamly stiff and dragging his hind feet, he did not look happy.
I lounged him on Sunday as well and saw big improvement already and he seemed back to normal, but then comes Monday and he is totally normal under saddle, a little stiff maby but he worked through it, but when in the crossries he freaked again 1-2 minutes after picking his hooves. Come to today where I felt along his back and he was right back to where he was on Saturday being really stiff and too responsive to my touch, I decided to hear what some other people had to say and they all said to message his chiro and tell her what's going on. She responds by telling me I should call a vet because of his collapsing, I really have no idea as to what this could be, he has never been this way before as far as I know
Anyone have any idea?

Definitely don’t get on it again until a thorough vet work up has been done ....and be very careful on the ground too around the horse. ?

Lameness is an abnormality of gait, so any stiffness or strange movement is lameness. Hope your vet was able to get your pony sorted.

This is an emergency - get your vet out and do NOT work the horse in any way whatsoever until given the all clear by your vet. sorry just seen this is a week old thread - how is the horse now, did you get a vet out?
