my pony has recently started catching himself with his back feet and he has shaved the feather off on the insides of his hind feet.

are there any boots that can be worn to prevent him knocking the insides of his legs? over reach boots would stop him shaving the hair off, but not many people put over reach boots on the hinds!!

i have seen those sausage rings (dont know correct name) before and i am wondering if they would help?

any suggestions please!

That would probably be your best bet (the sausage boot). If not and you think the over reach boots would help then use them- don't worry about where other people use them or where they are "meant" to go.

I put over reach boots on behind, on my youngster until he muscled up & stopped moving so close.
He wore them in the field as well as when I rode him.

& woof also do pastern wraps which help if he's catching himself there.... I used them as well!!! He had brushing boots/ pastern wraps & over reach boots on!! He now just wears brushing boots
