Does anyone have any experience with hind gut ulcers that has been treated successfully? I am considering ordering some Egusin for him but does anyone have any success stories with anything else?

My boy has a lot of things going on, he's recovering from KS and has been diagnosed with Navicular and a grade 2 stomach ulcer. He has been treated with Ulcergold but I know you're unable to scope the hind gut. I thought I'd try and treat for them as I've not noticed many changes in him following the improvement in his stomach ulcers.

He is very spooky, nappy, tense and anxious when ridden, mainly when hacking. He is girthy, grumpy to groom and rug and very lazy off the leg. Due to his previous problems I know it could all be remembered pain and his behaviour now is very similar to that before his diagnosis. I'm also quite sure he has other things going on with his back end, maybe hocks or stifles.
However, I'd like to try and rule out hind gut ulcers if I'm able to.

He has ab lib hay, is turned out during the day, in at night and fed speedi beet, chaff and fibre nuggets. He is a dream to handle and be around. Any help much appreciated, thankyou :-)

My mare was diagnosed using the succeed test which tests for stomach and hind gut ulcers. She has both stomach and hind gut ulcers. She has been on the succeed digestive supplement which is around £85 per month for six weeks now and she is a lot less tense and spooky. Although she has always been very forward going, she was lacking in stamina and she defiantly is getting back to normal in terms of stamina. I have also been giving ad lib hay in trickle nets, hifibre blocks to nibble on as she has a tendency to stuff her face and is a good doer. She also has 25ml of hemp oil in a scoop of chaff in am which is supposed to help hind gut ulcers. She gets chaff, fast fibre, pro balance mins and vits with succeed as top dressing in pm. I understand that hind gut ulcers take a lot longer to heal than gastric so hopefully she will continue to improve even more. She also had issues with disuniting on right rein when jumping which can also be linked to hind gut ulcers.

I've used Equishure in the past and it definately helped but is fairly expensive to use long term unless you purchase the 18kg size bucket. I use the cheaper ranitidine to reduce acid production and that works too. Both products are recommended by my equine vet.
