hind lameness .. any advice

help please!!! i have a 17.3 ID/TB geld 8yrs just being backed and has developed a Shortening of stride in the offside hind it doesnt seem to track up. sound at play has no swelling or heat but can lose function for 2 or 3 strides and then ok has been loose jumped with no probs and does not drop the leg. no injury . could it be spavin or something else?
how much can it cost for treatments if relevant ?. have had back specialist check him and there is no problem there or in pelvis. horse is well bred. traing suspended meantime but nd to fix this asap. any ideas ???? please !!

Could be anything, you should have a vet look at the horse. Until you know what the problem is you cant erally guess as to costs of treatment etc.
