Brought TB in from field yesterday to find her mildly lame on back foot with swelling around the fetlock and slightly above, with mild heat in the back of her pastern. Found no knicks or cuts anywhere on her leg. I cold hosed it which reduced the swelling slightly and put her in and gave her a danillon.
I returned a few hours later and her legs had swollen up around the fetlock to the same size as eachother from being stood in the stable, so i walked her for 2 mins and found she was not lame and gave her a larger area outside her box to mooch around in for a few hours.
Returned again this afternoon and she was completely comfortable- no heat or lameness- however the tendon was still swollen from about a quarter of the way up her cannon down and around her fetlock. Gave her another sachet of Danillon and called the vet who is coming to visit tomorrow afternoon.
What on earth could this be?!!
