What sort of lameness does using the toe of the back hoof to walk/step on indicate?

Anyone seen this? and what was the cause/diagnosis/treatment?

Thanks in advance.

I'd be delighted if it was an abcess!! must confess to hoping it is.

Mmmmm suspensory? yes a possibility I expect. No swelling/heat though.

Thrush too... Or corns? Don't know much about them.

Shod or barefoot?

Idont know the origins/insertions of muscles on horses, but perhaps tight hamstrings (if they are on back of thigh) could contribute.

Shod in front, not behind.

Definitely not thrush or corns.

Not tight hamstrings either unless that can come on fairly quickly for no apparent reason, she has not suffered an obvious accident, unless in the field, but has been in more work untill recently.
