Horse came in on Wednesday a bit funny. Sort of like when they have travel boots on (picking hind legs up a little high, stride a little short), but not as bad, barely noticable really. Had a good look around, but no injury, heat, swelling etc etc. Horse seemed slightly twitchy when I prodded around his left stifle but not a major reaction.
The day after it had improved, so I thought perhaps he had slipped in the field (it rained lots on Wednesday) and pulled a muscle?
Anyway, a couple of days on and its improved, he is not sensitive to prod anywhere, still no heat/swelling etc but still not *quite* right - its not a lameness, but more looks just a little stiff behind
I'm thinking that the best thing to do is just leave him until its better - suppose if its a pulled muscle it could take a week or so even to come right?
Is it worth popping him on the lunge in the school to see if its more noticable there or see if he trots it out?
I wouldnt hesitate to get the vet if I thought he needed them, but thought being such a minor thing best to leave it a few days at least?
