Hip/ Pelvis issue?

For a while now as I've been schooling I have terrible problems with my body almost being 'twisted,' to face the outside of the school on the right rein. As its come to light I've tried to do more and more to correct it which has made the whole process more painful. It almost feels as if that side is locked? I physically can't put my inside leg on either which is also very odd..

This makes for interesting schooling when a farmer / helpful livery decides to line outside the school with scary farm machinery / flags as I end up towing him to look at the outside of the school and consequently spooking with my dodgy riding etc etc!

SO! Anyway, I'm assuming that as whenever I fall off I hit the deck on my left side that its in either my pelvis or hip area there and am trying to find a good chiropracter to have a bit of a tweak.

In the mean time - to try to help my poor horse from having to compensate for me , does anyone know of any exercises I could do either at home or before I get on to try to open up that area? Many thanks!

I wouldn't want to make any suggestions about exercises when someone has an issue like that, without it being checked over first by a physio or chiropractor.

Hope you find a sports orientated one soon! If you were anywhere near me, I know a good chiro and a good physio

You could try some gentle wobbling about on a gym ball, this can help loosen up tight bits & it can be obvious if you are lopsided because the gym ball doesn't want to do what you want, bit like a horse ;) Take it easy though - overenthusiastic gym ball wobbling without supervision can make matters worse, not better :o

Its so frustrating! Poor old Darce tries his best but its not only that but its ruining my tack too as all the flocking moves. Sigh!!

Will have a look into the ball idea, even if its for 'maintenance,' afterwards :)

I feel your pain :D and am interested to see what suggestions are made...

I have a similar issue and have trouble due to an old injury and a twisted pelvis. On a really wobbly green horse or an ultra-sensitive one I've been known to crash into fences :o

I think you really need to get this checked out. Visit your doctor first and he will recommend the right sort of practitioner for you. I had a twisted pelvis (but not I think as bad as yours) and was put straight by a chriopractor. It took a few sessions but I now have a regular 3 months check-up and straighten up as with this sort of weakness it is very easy for it to fall back into its old ways. I doubt very much you will be able to sort this yourself, and it can be incredibly painful, can't it!
